Stuttgart Conference on Automotive Production 2026

in cooperation with

LOOKING BACK at SCAP2024

ARENA2036 hosted the third Stuttgart Conference on Automitve Production (SCAP2024) in cooperation with the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units of the University of Stuttgart (ISW). SCAP2024 is a forum for scientists, researchers, and developers to present and discuss advanced technologies in robotics, automation, simulation, and manufacturing innovations for future automotive production.

The conference this year focused on ‘Advances in Automotive Production – Digital Product Development and Manufacturing’, based on the thematic focus of the Digitain research project. Digitain is an international project that aims to develop processes, methods, and models for fully digital product development and certification of electric drive architectures. The project takes into account competitive drives as well as ecological and economic sustainability criteria right from the start. The two-day program included keynotes, parallel tracks with scientific presentations, technology demonstrations, poster sessions, workshops, and more!

We were very pleased to welcome so many numerous and interested guests at ARENA2036.

Looking Back at SCAP2022

The second Stuttgart Conference on Automotive Production (SCAP2022), held in November 2022, continued the dialogue initiated at SCAP2020. This event was organized in collaboration with the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units (ISW) at the University of Stuttgart and focused on the theme ‘Towards Software-Defined Manufacturing and Resilient Supply Chains,’ reflecting the evolving landscape of automotive production.

The conference aimed to explore recent advancements in robotics, automation, logistics, and manufacturing, with the goal of improving future automotive production techniques. SCAP2022 was held at the ARENA2036 research campus in Stuttgart, Germany from November 16 to 18, 2022. The conference provided a platform for researchers from various national and international backgrounds to present their findings, engage in meaningful discussions, and foster new collaborations between academia and industry.

We sincerely appreciate the invaluable support and engagement of all contributors, including speakers, volunteers, and participants. Your participation was essential to the success of the event. The conference proceedings, published by Springer Nature, provide a detailed account of the research and insights shared during the conference.

We hope you will continue to be involved in future editions as we further explore advancements in automotive production.
